Epson Introduces New SureColor S7170 Solvent Printer Delivering High Performance at Incredible Value

Las Vegas (April 23, 2025) – Underscoring its support for the signage industry, Epson today announced the SureColor S7170 64-inch signage printer. Designed to help businesses grow, the SureColor S7170 is a versatile solution that can reliably produce a variety of output making it key for small sign shops who require flexibility to print on multiple substrates and scale their business without investing in higher production machines. Touting the latest generation printhead for faster print speeds1 the SureColor S7170 delivers renowned detail and color performance, making it ideal for indoor and outdoor signs, banners, stickers, vehicle wraps and more. The SureColor S7170 is on display at ISA Sign Expo in Las Vegas, April 23-25 in Epson’s booth, #2216. “Sign shops shouldn’t have to choose between quality and speed – both are essential for success,” said David Bistrovic, product manager, professional imaging, Epson America, Inc. “The new SureColor S7170 delivers these features at an incredible value. With impressive print speeds and versatile media handling, it efficiently handles a wide range of jobs on various substrates, allowing sign shops to deliver high-quality results with a single printer – offering incredible value and all in-house.” Utilizing UltraChrome GS3 four-color solvent inks and Epson Precision Dot technology, the SureColor S7170 delivers consistent high-quality output. Built on the trusted platform of the previous generation, the SureColor S7170’s precise media handling system paired with a new, wider 1.33-inch PrecisionCore Micro TFP printhead with Nozzle Verification Technology ensures stable operation with faster print speeds.1 Additionally, a temperature sensor is placed closer to the nozzle plate to improve color consistency. A newly developed Ink Supply System replaces bulky cartridges with high-volume 800 mL ink packs,2 using 80% less plastic than cartridges3 to help reduce plastic waste and prevent frequent ink replacement, while improving print shop efficiency. Supporting a wide spectrum of media, including vinyl, banner, canvas and paper to meet customer needs, it also offers a precise media feed and take up system to deliver stable operation and printing accuracy for a variety of applications. The user-friendly design incorporates a large 4.3-inch touch screen control panel to allow the operator to change print settings on the fly. With integrated management tools to streamline production, it comes with a 1-year subscription to ONYX Go Plus and includes Epson Edge Print Pro RIP software and Epson Cloud Solution PORT4 for production monitoring and fleet management. Availability The SureColor S7170 will be available through Authorized Epson Professional Imaging Resellers with a one-year limited warranty. Print speeds are based on the print engine speed only. Total throughput time for any print depends on various factors including workstation configuration, file size, print resolution, ink coverage and networking. Actual print speeds will vary. 2 Part of the ink from the first cartridges/packs is used for initializing the printer. Ink usage will vary considerably based on images printed, print settings, paper type, frequency of use, temperature and humidity. Variance may be more pronounced when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink color. Ink is used for printing and printer maintenance, and all colors must be available for printing. For print quality, a variable amount of ink remains after the “replace ink” indicator comes on. 3 Ratio determined by weight of 700 mL ink cartridge plastic components vs. weight of 800 mL ink pack plastic components for UltraChrome GS3 Inks. 4 All features of this system require an active Internet connection and the use of a supported browser.
