    KONICA TRAINING!

Rants and raves? Perfect place for me to bitch and moan about training.

So, I'm trying to finish my Prerequisites For Outward Expert - Production Print Certification, I've got one more exam to go. Adobe PDF Print Engine Part 2 of 2 is completely kicking my butt. This is such BS, I've watched the video narrated by the guy with the super irritating accent at least 5 times, there's no workbook to download, most of the questions are multiple answer multiple choice, they switch the terms around and use double speech to throw you off. This has absolutely ZERO to do with my job, just another flaming hoop I need to jump through to get my boss's boss of his back ergo, my boss of my back.

I'm a pretty smart dude, and I test really well but this is NONSENSE! I realize this comes with the territory and everybody has to do it, it just sucks and I'm tired of it.

    /end rant

Gotta love Outward and all their useless, outdated, time consuming courses. I think I gave up after Associate.. I got to the fax basics 2(yes there's a second one!) on the Professional, and my brain imploded that day from useless information..

Oh and Windows95/NT printing basics is still there I believe.(because that will come in handy someday).

I do not have to worry about this....

        I only have the following:
        Outward Associate
        Outward Professional
Outward Expert – Network, Production Print
        Outward Master – Color

What is this training thing you speak of? Is it something I should have?

I've heard something about this "training". You spend hours and hours of your own personal time to make your brain hurt ... and your paycheck stays the same. And in 6 or 7 years that information will be completely obsolete, that is, the stuff that isn't obsolete already. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You're going for production equipment specialist? You're a better person than me. While there isn't a lot of production equipment out here on the periphery, there are a machine or two like that that I do get to see once in a while (usually to make sure that there isn't something easy there before they send the wizards on a road trip).
If time permits, keep after that, you'll do OK. And I really appreciate that if I hit a road block on that sort of equipment, someone like you who knows what they are doing will follow up.

Really badly done. Hopefully it will be better now that it's in German hands.
Its frustrating if the questions and the subject matter doers not suport each other.

What I hate is when you get trained on a pre release machine and they give you all the waffle about life spans of drums etc when a customer hasnt even got hold of the thing.

Some of those test questions are straight from hell.....very discouraging to me.

Like they are not proofread before releasing.

In the back of my mind I was hoping for a PM from somebody with a handy PDF that has all the answers..... But, that would be wrong as, cheaters never prosper.
