I currently have a few customers that are interested in purchasing POS register and software systems.

Is there any Brand or series of POS machine that works better than any other?
What is a good barcode scanner system?
What is a good all round scaleable software system for say a
corner shop or pharmacy stock/inventory control?
What is the best printer and cash draws system?
As far as profit margins are concerned, would it be cheaper to build a customised individual item system or
purchase a complete recognised brand name an software package?

There are many systems and suppliers to chose from, however i settled with the following two suppliers


CES Software, supply the software which would be installed on a windows based operating system, its very comprehensive and complex but it does just about everything most other systems don't

Retail Software UK | EPOS Software | Point of sale software for retail and hospitality


Hardware suppliers for items like the epos, cash drawer, receipt printers with optional windows 7pos etc (Good quality hardware)

for you look into Idealpos there headquaters are in brissy

they are not cheap but they do cover all the needs your talking about and more

Ive sold plenty of Ipad / Samsung tablet versions of Retail POS software

But Arms F&B is a good basic one

none stack up to the properly built systems

Yes i do sell both these brands locally in ballarat, vic but do not work for them

senor are also good for hardware, etc
