Has anyone set up printing using IPV6?

Can anyone help with networking a printer using the new IPV6.
If you set the printer to DHCP and put that IP into printer port details it cant see the printer. Can you run both V4 and V6 at the same time.

You can run both at the same time but the standard tcp/ip port is only for ipv4. As of yet I don't know of any ipv6 printer ports.
I have a few accounts that had me put in an ipv6 address but still have to use the ipv4 address for all the printing. I'm guessing they used the ipv6 address for the web interface or admin purposes. Even the newest routers/switches are still going to be compatible with ipv4, so just use the ipv4 address for printing.

I had one only IPV6. I eventually set it to print via its UNC.. aka \\RNP94234\savin9040

Ultimately V6 will be king, but that's still a few years off.

I just saw an article recently about this - the world is almost out of V4 addresses, so it's inevitable.

I remember some years ago when it looked like V6 would take over soon (maybe in 2001?), but V4 "supernetting" appeared and pushed V6 back a bit.

I remember people saying that for a long time too, but I've only recently seen IPv6 available in copiers. I guess it's inevitable IPv6 will take over, but I wonder if IPv4 private addresses will stick around??
It was a University that had an IPv6 address entered as well as the IPv4. Universities always seem to have the newest toys....CAT6, Gigabit ethernets, Win7, IPv6, best internet connection speeds..

Good to know the UNC will work for IPv6, thanks Vulkor.
