One print job, two copies from two different trays?

I have a client who would like to print a document once and have two copies printed on two different types of paper.

I can't help but feel there should be an easy way to set this up but I'm stumped.

It is a Windows enviroment using the HP universal print driver.

    Any suggestions?

You haven't mentioned what type of machine you have?

If you have two trays, how about loading the two different papers in the two different trays? Print one copy to tray #1, print one copy to tray #2. It works on every brand.

Choice #2: Alternate the paper types in the tray. Print two copies non-sorted. It works on every brand.

Anything else will be more complicated. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

All HPs with multiple trays I've suggested both the two choices to the client already. They were previously doing the second and don't want to do that any more but can't bring themselves to print the job twice too two different trays.

They will end up using the first option you suggested. I just have this nagging feeling there should be a easy way to set it up.

If this were a Kyocera you could write a "macro", which is sort of a single use application. The print job is sent to printer port 9101 which has a prepended command to call the app, and an appended command to stop the app.

HP may have such a thing, but I haven't heard of it. And it's not that easy. There's quite a bit of time involved in writing the app, and it only works on a few machines of similar vintage. =^..^=

With the economy in such a deplorable state, and un-employment high ... they could hire someone to alternate the sheets they want printed into the cassette , and through the printers menu ; set the number of copies at ' 2 ' .

          Problem solved for customer ...
          Un-employment down by ' 1 ' ...
Another employee paying taxes helps the economy ...

          Good Luck ...........

            Seriously ....

Like Blackcat said ......... you probably do need a MACRO for this to operate the way they want .
            What model printer ?

Re: One print job, two copies from two different trays?

Toshiba have their own software specifically for this type of printing:

Toshiba - Photocopiers, printers and fax

An slightly more complex, but still quite simple, way of doing this would be to setup an individual driver for each of the cassettes so when you go to print, it is only ever a matter of selecting the right printer and not having to go into the PRint Properties each time. While this creates a couple of extra clicks, it does get the job done and can seem to be much better to the end user.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
