Is there a way that anyone knows of to reset the username and password for the Admin log in for the WIM?

Try SP 5-828-74, or something in that subset. Those are usually the network settings SP's. This worked on the LD238c, but I don't know about the next generation up (the 'admin', no password boxes). For those you may want to try SP 5-801-10 (network service clear).

Thanks for the suggestions... although I forgot to mention what machine it was for. That would have given a bit more of a clue as to how to resolve this. It's a Savin 3224, so...

Thanks again guys! I will be back at the machine on Monday to set-up scan to e-mail. Today, I was setting up print and scan to folder and while showing their new IT guy about the machine I started telling him about the easiest way to manage users and I tried to log in and boom... Biscuits burnt!

            are you talking about DSC224:
Type the user name and the password, and then click [OK].

Type only the password in this dialog box. The factory default password is
            password.

yeah, I know all that, but what has happened is that this machine has had it's default username and password changed. You can do this, from admin mode, in WIM. Very few accounts actually do this, but this one did. Now, the new IT person would like to be able to use this feature, but he can't since he doesn't know the changed admin log in info.

Remeber, this is more of a "want" thing than anything else. I just want to know how to reset this after it has been changed and if not, then fine. The only reason I have not called Tech support on this topic is because I am not formally trained on this product and I have first hand experience with how that goes!

                Thanks again

Did you try user: admin password: password.
There may also be user: supervisor password: password.

try resetting the NCS in the SP 5801-11 (not sure about 11 part) but if you reset the NCS it will reset all your network setting, so before you do that, make a copy of your setting. You could also try Supervisor for username. If you use the supervisor login the only thing you could do this it is to change the admin logins password

                    gook luck

user=supervisor and password=supervisor should get you in.
Supervisor mode allows you to 'supervise' administrators.

You should be able to change the details from there.

well if you want to reset the admin password from the Web Image Monitor the only way I know is by loggin in as supervisor and resetting the admin password from there.

The other one in service mode is a little dangerous because it deletes all the NCS settings on the machine.

As far as I am aware uploading to SD then later restoring would also revert the machine back to the original (unknown) admin pasword.
