mail to print MFP ricoh

Hi!

I have understood that there is a configuration to send email to the MFP and print from it.

I tried to configure POP3 but I have not got set ok .

I looked user manuals and nothing appears.

There is no configuration that I know of to send email to the mfp for printing. You can scan documents to email from the mfp. You can find the configurations for this in the operators manual. Unless you are referring to Cloud printing; which is printing from a mobile device. Cloud printing is a whole different ball of wax and involves many different things. If that is what you want then you will need to research the requirements from the Ricoh website for Cloud printing to Ricoh mfps.

I am pretty sure, send an email with attach .pdf , office ..etc and mfp print it attach file.
In the webimagemonitor you can configure pop3 server.

Configuring of the pop3 server is usually for the scan to e-mail function. I could be wrong, but I have not heard about sending e-mails to the mfp. Good Luck.

I stand corrected. I just did a Google search and found out it is possible to a certain extent. You need to Google Ricoh internet fax\mail to print and you should be able to find your configurations. Thanx for teaching me something new. Good Luck and come back and tell us how you did.

You will need PostScript and a hard drive for mail to print to work correctly.

This might be stupid, but I kind of think that POP3 (like IMAP) is only for sending emails. For the machine to to receive emails I think you might need SMTP.
(While that was a fact with the original POP, I am not sure about POP3.)

The problem with setting up POP3 on an MFP is that you have absolutely NO control over what emails will be printed.

Ricoh has or had an optional feature called HotSpot printing. When installed, it allowed the user to email a document to the MFP. The customer received a release code, which they entered into the mfp and out came the print job.

You will need a fax-unit installed for mail to print to work. Sounds weird, but they should have called it mail to fax.
there are also limitations like only the first attachment is printed, and only tiff, jpeg and pdf will be printed.

The mpf have fax, I do not find information in google and ricoh official page to configure it.

In ricoh web have guides to configurations (scan to mail, folder..) but.. no mail to print

You've got your protocols reversed. POP and IMAP are reception protocols while SMTP is what actually sends your mail.

Configuration:
First of all you need to Set switch 21 bit 2 to on (1) and configure POP3/IMAP4 and also Fax Email Account

Hardware:
You will need a fax option, HDD, and PDF direct print to enable this function.

Note: If you have an email with a TIFF attachment it will print the body and the attachment.
If you have an email with a PDF and a JPEG attachment it will only print the attachment (and only the first one)
