    Canon IRA C5540I Code E000354-0002

    Hi Guys,
I have a canon IRA C5540i that was fixed by your recommendations for a no screen display, now when the machine comes ready, there is a code E000354-0002 code.
I have another machine sitting next to it where I switched the HDD, but the same code comes up...any recommendations?
    Thank you,
    Doug

If it is a HDD issue, you just can't pull a HDD from another Canon.
It has to be the same type/size from a like model.
This has been covered many times over the years.

I have this type of information

        E354-0001,
        E354-0002

Serial numbers conflict among the SERIAL NUMBER PCB, Flash PCB, and Memory PCB.

I've been told on these forums that you can't pull a hard drive from one copier and swap it into another one even if they're the same exact model. You could do that on the older models. but not the newer ones. The HDD is tied to the serial number of the machine it's installed in.

Replacing it with a new HDD, formatting it, and installing system software is the correct way to do it. You MAY be able to use a HDD from another copier..... as long as you re-format it and remove all partitions before you place it in the new machine, then format and install system software. I haven't tried this myself.

It's easier (and better) to just start with a new HDD. They're not that expensive.

Fit the original HDD back & any boards you may have swapped then update the system software.

Note Canon is stopping people swapping over hdd on the newer machine you was ok like on the older machines ie irac5250 but on the newer from series 3 and dx versions you will you will need to reload the correct system software also I think they are just starting to use one hdd for all models
