    Canon ipf605 Error 161-4050

Hi. I have an error 161-4050
Customer has fitted a new printhead, but inks ran out before printhead had finished setting up.
Engineer has fitted a new purge unit. Still have this error after going in to service mode.
Machine says replenishing ink for fifteen minutes, then same error.
I usually work on HP plotters, so these are a bit of a mystery to me. Any pointers would be appreciated.

The customer has spent a lot of money on a printhead, inks, maintenance trays, so I would like to get this working.

Edit: I've just tried to do a nozzle check and now it's saying Multi Sensor Error.
I've cheated the top cover and there is no visible light to check the paper.

    Thanks in advance.

E161 errors are printhead temp overheats on Canon ipfs. On the older ipfs(like this....close to 20 year old product), the printheads would short, frying main con carriage relay pcb, or both. I've seen shorted heads fry main cons then the main con fries every head you put in until replaced together. If the head is past warranty(1 year), Canon won't warranty a pcb with the head being replaced with it. Is there any air in the lines? Is purge unit functioning? Honestly, I wouldn't waste the money on it..the cost to repair it...go buy a TM

Before replacing the head, make sure you have a supply of new inks and a waste ink tray to avoid problems during initialization, update the FW.
