[Error Code] Canon IRA 4525i series II E602-1701 error

Hello all,

I was called out on this machine that has the above error code. I followed the procedure in the service manual to perform HD-CHECK. The procedure completed the first time and came back to the menu then rebooted per the manual. When the device rebooted it started the HD-CHECK process again and ran overnight without completing. I have pulled the HDD and run a SMART drive self-test on it and it passes the short test. I am performing a long test for media read failures. This is a Toshiba 320G drive BTW. Should I try to boot using 2+8 and load FW on it again if it passes the long DST?

I would format the HDD using the SST etc then reload the system software.

If this fails replace the HDD

start copier up in box checker mode. hold down 2&4 and turn on. this will give you the condition of the HDD. Your going to have to replace the drive, do not use Toshiba drive use Seagate drive i have used over 100 of these at the university that i service .Part number L41606-011. If you can acces the machine try to get the data exported onto your flash drive before relace...hope this helps
