disconnect one connector at a time from the DC controller/ something drawing down 24v

Check the voltage from the Relay PCB at J1713. Check to see if 38 volts is present. If the voltage is not present, try removing J1713 from the relay board and see if the imageRUNNER will come up without the code. If the imageRUNNER will boot up without the E111 code, suspect a fault in the 38 volt circuit.

Hi, Im having the same E111, changed the motor but problem still there. So going to change the dc controller pcb. But I notice that the part number arent the same from the board and the manual. On copier: FG6-7235.On Manual: FG9-3851.Update:Ok, Manage to get the same board, replaced and confirmed that the Dc controller still working. Beside E111, E202 also present. Any helps?Tested DC Supply n relay board both ok.

did u check outlet for proper voltage output ? outlet v-neutral to ground also needs to be 0v/ 0.5v a short somewhere can cause this E111/ did error occur after u were working on printer /? could be another 24VDC component or the wiring shorting./check those clutch wires check the reg clutch harness Error code E111-0000 with E202 error codes -------- A possible solution is to perform DC-CON clear in COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR then to re-enter the door specifications.Next to perform R-CON clear and to do a CCD-ADJ in COPIER>FUNCTION>CCD. E202 code can be displayed if the copyboard glass sensor is not working properly. In the left rear corner of the copyboard glass there is an actuator that blocks and unblocks PS57. If the actuator is not working or there is a problem with the sensor an E202 code will be displayed.

Re: Canon IR8500 Error E111 Please Help

Ok, problem solved, no more error code shows up. Solution: Take out DC Controller connector one by one and it happen that J509 is the source of error. Unplug it and the system work fine. So replug again after checking and machine able to boot up without error code but come up with jam code which indicate 0A05. Checked vertical sensor seems fine. I even change it with other sensor. Sensor is working but from DC con i/o show value "1" indicating paper detected. Problem unsolved. So I further by checking the voltage on the connector for that sensor, which turn out to be +5.2v,+5.2v, and 0v. Now no idea on what to do next.

there are other loads on that connector J509

change of state reading for sensor returns back to DC PCB>

U check for change of state for sensor on the DC PCB connector & not across the load (sensor)

Execute the following in service mode. When paper is placed in theregistration power sensor assembly, does bit 11 change from 0 to 1?COPIER>I/O>DC-CON>P001
NO: Check the wiring and the sensor flag; if normal, replace the sensor
                    (PS5) (J509-A1,- A2, -A3 on DC controller PCB).

                    Connector--I/O addressJ509-A2****P001-11

                    When paper is not at PS5, = "1" 5v
                    When paper is at PS5 = "0" 0v

Thanks teckat, problem solved when i cleared the dc con.

After about 500 sheet being copied out, the same E111 appear. So I shut down the machine, disconnect the J509 and restart. Machine able to boot up to ready to copy screen. The moment i plug in the J509 connector, boom, 24V supply shut down. 5V still working.
Guess need to check one by one of the things related to J509.

Teckat, do you have any particular i/o that should i check first for J509 related problem? Thanks.

                          Problem solved.

It happen that after careful inspection, the sheath for cable CL2 were torn a bit. So its 24v keep on shorting to the ground.

                          Thanks Teckat for the diagram.
