Reading from/ writing to the soft counter memory cannot be
    done properly.

    Clean DIMM contact.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

      E246
Error in writing operations (to the counter memory).

      1. A normal soft counter reading cannot be written to the counter memory.
      2. Counter Memory PCB not being recognized on power up

      1. Re-install original Counter Memory PCB that belongs to that equipment.
      2. or Replace Counter Memory PCB with new one.

      have u been swapping pcb's ??
Counter Memory PCB is a matched board with the Serial Number PCB and cannot be swapped with one from any other equipment.Counter Memory PCB is electronically stamped with the serial number from the Serial Number PCB.
Neither the Counter Memory PCB nor the Serial Number PCB can be swapped to other equipment.
The Counter Memory PCB keeps track of the total count, which cannot be erased or changed. The service counters are retained by the Main Controller. These counters can be reset manually through service mode.

When the Counter Memory PCB must be replaced, after installing the new one, the new Counter Memory PCB learns the Total Count from the Main Controller. This is retained in SRAM on the Main Controller PCB and held active by means of an on board battery.
