    Canon iR 2530 driver problem

    Hello at all...

we have bought a new printer Canon iR 2530 but our IT-man can't get it installed.
We have a Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard 64bit operating system.

He has tested several drivers here:
    imageRUNNER 2530

The printer can be seen in the network and you can install at client. If you give a print order to the printer, the client says ok too. In printer spool the order is seen but it doesn't print.
Our IT-man says this is definitely a driver problem.

I must say the official support of Canon is really lousy. Nobody could help us.
Can anybody of you here help us, please...

what driver are u using ?? what is your set-up
do u have a error listed on job log ??
Send Function, is standard on “i” models and an option on all others

    unit comes standard with UFRII LT;
loading the correct driver or updating to the PCL Printer Kit-AF1 would resolve this issue.

    1. PCL Printer Kit-AF1
-Supports PCL printing solution, PCL5e/6 printing solutions are supported
--This kit requires activation via LMS
    2. PS (PostScript) Printer Kit-AF1
    -Supports PS emulation printing
--PCL is not required for PS
--This kit requires activation via LMS

We used this driver at least:
      Canon PCL5e/5c, PCL6 Printer Driver

In printer job log the print order is seen, but it says np "not printed".
      What does LMS activation mean?

        license
management system. once you've bought the printers kit, you need to go to this website to get the license keys to activate the kit :
        Canon - lms -

        * just try and and download the ufr11 driver from the canon europe site. imageRUNNER 2530

i think the reason for the pcl driver not working is you have a 2530 standard......... it was gonna work if you had 2530i
        .

UFRII driver. the 2530 series standard does not come with pcl/PS. That being said when you send a print job to a device that doesn't understand the language it's supposed to be using. It'll either print out a bunch of pages with odd designs on them, or nothing at all. status light will flash momentarily but the print job will be deleted.

The Printer Kits for many of the newer Canon devices are LMS based. The BootROM on these devices will always end with a C. There is no N, P, or H BootROM for these devices.

You can check for the LMS-based Printer Kit on the Canon device the same way as you would check for any other installed LMS-based option or kit.

                Perform the following steps:

                1. Press the [Counter Check] button on the copier control panel.

                2. Hit the [Device Configuration] button on the LCD screen.

                3. Scroll down through all of the available pages on this Device Configuration screen. Look for either PS, PCL or UFRII. The methods listed here (ex. PS, PCL, or UFRII) are installed and are available for printing.

For example, if you find UFRII and PCL, but do not find PS on this screen on an iR C5180, it means that the UFRII/PCL Printer Kit is installed, but the PS Printer Kit is not installed. The exact Canon Printer Kits available vary by device model. See your specific device's documentation for more information.

                * Note
                - You will need to install the appropriate printer drivers on the workstation in order to print.

U first purchase the Kit needed, in the KIT is a LANs (License Access Number).

The LMS>License Management System is a website used to register LANs (License Access Numbers) for Universal Send Kits and other optional kits for the Canon imageRUNNER devices.

                To Register a LAN:

                1. Using a Web Browser (ex. Internet Explorer) on your PC, go to the LMS website at http://www.canon.com/lms/ir.

                2. Enter in the LAN provided in the optional kit (example. Universal Send Kit).

                3. Enter the serial number for the imageRUNNER device (the machine that the optional kit will be installed on). BE SURE TO ENTER THE CORRECT SERIAL NUMBER.

                4. Copy down the License Key number for the installation.

For more information, please see the attached file lms.pdf.

To Install the Optional Kit on the imageRUNNER Device:

                1. On the copier, hit Additional Functions > System Settings > scroll down > License Registration.

                2. Enter the License Key number you copied down when registering the LAN on the LMS website.

                3. Hit the Start button on the License Registration screen.

                4. Reboot the copier.

                * Note that some optional kits may require certain prerequisite items to be installed before performing the above steps.

                Answer :
If you did not receive a CD/DVD for a Canon LMS based kit, software, or meap application you purchased you can download the software associated with your LAN at the following address.

                http:\\www.canon.com/fau/downloads

The Content Delivery Site will prompt you for your LAN number and will allow you to download only the software that is linked to that LAN.

                  Hi Revvo,

Not sure if this is related to your problem or not, but I do know from prior experience with other printing systems and Windows Server, that if you are using 64 bit OS on the server and 32 bit on machines or other way around, sometimes it won't print either.

You will have to log into the machine with 64 bit OS and manually load the 32 & 64 bit drivers over the network.

Just an idea if nothing else resovled the issue.

The additional drivers button on the print driver should be clicked and both x86 and x64 drivers should ALWAYS be added to the server unless there's no need for x86 (as it is in my territory, everyone wants more than 4 gigs of ram)
