    ===================

    E840 is an error detection to the fixing inlet home position sensor.

    PS63 (Fixing Inlet sensor) and PS66 (Fixing Inlet HP sensor)

    may be caused by a poor connection on the front door switch. Try inspecting & re-seating the connection at the front door open/close switch=
    ++ make sure the front door is not vibrating away from the front door open/close switch (MSW7).
    The door Magnet Action Catch may not properly be holding the door closed.

    ++ if paper is stuck in unit 1 frame side connector you might get a E840. If no paper is found in the connector check the connector for damage or cracks. Frame side connector assembly (FM2-5091-000).

      Many thanks for the help friend, you would have a picture of where the sensor is?

        Do know how to remove the Fix Unit

        Fixing inlet sensor PS63

        <Paper Detection>
        If paper is detected while the fixing inlet sensor is moving up, the machine will indicate the presence of a fixing inlet residual paper jam.

        Fixing inlet HP sensor PS66
        <HP Detection>
        If HP detection fails when the fixing inlet sensor is moved,
        the machine will indicate error code E840.

        -Disconnect and then connect J508, J552, and J553 of the DC controller PCB.

        -Disconnect and then connect J4001 and J4002 of the fixing inlet sensor ascent/descent motor driver PCB; as necessary, replace the fixing inlet sensor ascent/ descent motor.
        -if needed> Replace the fixing inlet sensor ascent/descent motor driver PCB

          Sensor flag.JPGThis sensor is only used on power up to check for jam...does not monitor paper movement. They get lazy from getting gummed up from web(fuser oil) fumes and paper fibers. Personally, I cut the flag off that blocks the photo interrupt....not the actuator piece that sticks up, but the part of it that blocks the photo interrupt underneath. Useless sensor...I do the same on 5570
