Canon CLC 1180. After changing developers and ceramic toners, I made few successful prints, but after some time it stopped. On copy operation I got error E020/0380. After that we did an INIT of colors and C/M/Y colors give errors E020/0124; 0224; 0314 ... but INIT K gives ready status. We Have two CLC 1180 printers on site and we can swap parts between them if needed.

No guarantees when u swap in a product that's not supported.
On the developer units>check the connector it plugs into on frame side and make sure that they're aren't any bent or broken pins.
The loss of the Reference Signal back to the DC/Driver PCB will cause the code to be displayed.

Tech Tip on this series;
Before u remove any connections on this model,make sure the printer is off & power cord is removed from outlet, especially before removing developer units, **
The power switch should be turned off before unplugging any sensor in the machine and the machine should be unplugged from the wall outlet before unplugging any PCB.
Seen many DC DRIVERS on this series crap out and constantly cause e020 frustration codes during callbacks to the Troubleshooter (me).

Put in orig dev door specs if available,

We played with Canons today, and we removed toners (C/M/Y, not K) from faulty printer and installed them into working one, and INIT of all colors passes ok.

We have checked cables before and they shouldn't be a problem.
Is there anything else that could cause this behaviour?

If I remember , that series has a Gradation Sensor (PS73).
If you have removed or replaced the Sensor perform the following:
1. Clean the Gradation Sensor, using a soft cloth, moistened with water and well wrung. Remount the Sensor.
Note: The reason for using water is to help to remove the residual charges from the sensor window. ( The presence of charges can attract toner to the sensor window.) After cleaning the window with water, do not leave droplets of water on it, also do not dry wipe it.
2. Turn on the Power Switch, and keep the copier in the Standby State.
3. Select and execute FUNCTION>SNSADJ>P-SENS in Service Mode.
4. Record the values of ADJUST>DENS>P-SENS-Y,M,C,K in Service Mode to the service label.
5. Select and execute ADJUST/CLEANING>AUTO GRADATION CORRECTION in User Mode.
This sensor causes issues, especially when trying to read gradation patch on drum surface/ worse when drum surface is old\worn.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

This printer still refuses to work.
We spend some time switching parts, and we tried developing ass'ys on another printer and they work fine.
Also, we installed working photosensitive drum into faulty printer and got same error codes.
Any new ideas?Comment
