[Misc] Image class mf 6160 dw default is set to duplex print.they want single sided without

This pos is making me mad.New copier I have sold it twice and still it wants to print in duplex from email.word seems to do single sided.they have to go to properties every time they print to change from duplex to single sided. copies work fine.does anyone know how to make it stay single sided? Even Canon web site is hard to locate that machine and it's only a few months old.no more image classes.thank you for any advice, Jim

Make sure in printer properties,
that is sees the corect model.

What is prompting the notice of two sided ,

good idea. i will check. also, i think scanning is ok, but when he prints from some programs, it wants to default to duplex. but in word it doesnt. strange.i checked the canon site and there is no new firmware.

what Print Driver/Drivers are people using

how many people are printing to this product ??
change the default printing preferences at the server ??
(make sure duplex / booklet is set to "None")


seen this before> that most novice office people choose wrong print driver or have something checked off in app or driver

Found this on PC WORLD :
As with all recent Canon lasers,(example the MF6180dw) prints in duplex by default,
some newer print driver ver. seem to be set at two-sided as a default) / guess trying to save paper on Network Printing ?

Given that the MF6180dw's only difference from the Canon MF6160dw is the addition of PostScript, there's simply no reason to pay extra for the printer unless you plan to use the PostScript driver.

1. Open a document.
2. Click File | Print.
3. Select the correct copier.
4. Click the drop down arrow (below the Pages field).
5. Select Finishing.
6. Change the Print Style to 1-sided.
7. Click the Presets field.
8. Select Save As.
9. Rename the Preset field.
10. Click OK.
11. Select Print or Cancel.

Canon drivers default to duplex printing...Enviromentally friendly(save paper).Two ways...printer properties/advanced/printing defaults... or....printer preferences/finishing. Make sure to Apply,not just OK
