KM booklet maker SD-513 trimmer blade sharpening

Has anyone sharpened their trimmer blades?
Its not part of the service contract apparently and to replace is around $3500 AUD which is crazy.
I was wondering if they can be sharpened and if so, how can it be done?

All the blades on my machines are covered by our service contracts. If you are talking about the fore edge trim you might get lucky and find someone who who sharpens full size trimmer blades that might do it . If you are talking about the side cutters I don't think there is no chance of getting those sharpened,

Those are shaped like pizza cutters. I don't think you can find anyone to sharpen them. They are probably so expensive because you cant order just the blades but have to order side slitter units, I guess the customer has to decide how bad they wants the books. I didn't know that they were that expensive. Out of curiosity I'm going to check with our parts people to see what we get charged for them

That's really not a bad price to have them installed. If you keep using them dull it will start jamming and as you know some of the jams in that booklet maker can be very difficult to remove.

Ill see how we go, its not too bad at the moment, but if it becomes too rough of a cut, ill have to get them replaced.
