Konica Minolta C360i - Quality issue

    Hi guys,

we have a Konica Minolta C360i that was initially having an issue with a yellow background. On site we noticed the yellow TCR was 0.0 so we have checked the developing unit and it seems it has turned black? so we have replaced the yellow drum and developing unit but the issue remains, the yellow TCR goes from 6.6 to 2.4 then back to 6.6 after doing some prints. We have checked the yellow developing unit again and the new one has turned black also.

on the transfer belt it seems the yellow has covered the belt fully and seem to have taken all the yellow developer out of the developing unit.

the machine has various P Codes (see attached) P CODES.docx Halftones.pdf

The machines is on the latest firmware and below are the meters

    Total: 35771
    Black: 9146
    Colour: 26625

we are potentially thinking it is down to the HV BOARD but would like to here some suggestions,

id try a toner add until its even with the others then do a background data reset and stabilize and perform all 9 or 12 gradation adjustments.
could be toner chute is clogged or not replenishing toner.
not discarding a possible HV issue but check the physical first
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

Hello, I had the same problem but I only changed the yellow development unit two months ago and the problem has not returned. As you say, the unit turns black, the value becomes 0 and the unit code appears and constantly resets, but in my case after changing the unit the problem has been resolved.

It can be infamous toner hopper problem. Did you remove and check it?
What areYellow drum voltages (those are in Table number - Vg and Vdc)?

Yellow are way off as IDC judged the image density as low...but first check toner hopper.

We have a had a few HV boards fail on the C250i series.

After you replaced the yellow dev & image units did the device work ok initially ? if yes then you have a toner supply issue.
If after replacing the yellow IU & dev units the print quality issue was the same immediately after then I would look at replacing the HV board.
Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

I had a case when the developer unit did not fill with toner. In my case the sensor in the hopper was dirty and the machine thought that the hopper was full of toner and did not start the tube rotation. Cleaning the sensor helped.

Are you modifying the black drums to colour drums by any chance?

                      Hi guys,

so we have been to site and replaced the HV BOARD and HOPPER unit and a new Y Dev unit but it has once again turned black,

the HV board did fix the background issue

the hopper unit fixed the TCR issue

but pulled the DV unit out and its done the same
