[Error Code] Konica Bizhub C284e Administrator Login "It is not possible to login now"

Hey yall, so I have a Konica Bizhub C284e with CE access, and have used the STOP > 0 > C to clear the Administrator's password and also unlock the Administrator lockout.

However, when accessing the web panel gui, and attempting to login as an Administrator with the correct reset password, I get a strange message: "It is not possible to login now".

I've tried searching for clues on how to reset it to clear out the various trouble codes this machine has, but can't unless I can gain access to the Administrator web gui.

A few steps that I attempted but didn't work are:
    1. Applying the settings and restarting the machine
    2. Attempting to use A145FW.TAR on a USB thumb drive and attach it to the side of the machine next to the LCD, power cycling to do a reset. (this didn't work, the printer just boots normally)
    3. Initializing through the CE interface.
If anyone has any clues on how to factory reset/fully reset this machine, I would greatly appreciate it. It's been very difficult trying to get this printer back to working order.

Any chance you're logged in CE mode simultaneously?

I have tried restarting the printer using the toggle (not secondary power) and logging in, therefore not being logged into the CE (Service) mode. The web interface doesn't allow you to login at all if the machine is in CE mode. I've never seen this error before, so I am very confused.

You are using the wrong USB slot to update firmware or use the reset tool.

The correct port is under a small metal cover, near the LAN port, low down, 1 screw slide up to reveal.

Thank you for this, I was wondering why the reset tool wasn't working. I successfully reset the device using A145FW.TAR (strangely enough everything is in Japanese now).

Unfortunately, the web access Administrator account still shows, "It is not possible to login now." using the default pass of 1234567812345678.

In other words, the reset was successful, however, the login issue still persists.

Changing the password and unlocking Administrator mode provides this message after using the reset tool:

Password is invalid because of illegal access.
            Please ask an administrator.

just a thought, i think if the machine type is not set after the lobotomy you cant login.
              it may still be FF.
print a config page if you can, see if the model is "generic xx-x" is shown not the real model# machine type is not set.
First four digits of the serial number A5C1 A5C2 A5C4
              [Machine] 3 3 3
              [Type] 1 2 3
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
              The medication helps though...

It seems you are right- in the web interface, it shows a generic model. Do you know how to set the machine/model type? The printer's interface is in Japanese; unless this can be done in the public website panel.

i edited the post above fror the setting info.
you boot to a FW stick and select machine/type and set the proper hex based on the serial# hit set and reboot.

ive had that when either changing function version without rebooting or changing to a level higher than firmware supports

Just an update- thanks to Synthohol I was able to get documentation and also the firmware for this printer. Much thanks!

Unfortunately, after using the reset tool, and attempting to flash to the file C224e_C284e_C364e_A5C10Y0-F000-G20-M1, the printer does not boot to the firmware installer. I think it might be the USB thumb drive I'm using, so I will test again tomorrow.

I will keep trying to repair this printer, but if it's too difficult, I just might have to remove it. There are also several error codes that seem to be quite serious, which is ashame.

I replied to your PM. Those models are very picky with what USB thumb drive. I use 4gb Sandisk formatted FAT32. Less GB the better. Although manual states you can put more than one firmware on thumb drive I always delete last F/W than put just one F/W on it.

Not sure if you got this figured out yet or not, but you need to set soft switch 10 to a HEX 02 and it will bring it back from Generic to Konica brand.
