Re: Konica Minolta C258 custom paper tray seting
Hi, can you post a picture for better understanding?A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused. -
Re: Konica Minolta C258 custom paper tray seting
Are you implying that any paper tray on your bizhub C258 can identify non-standard paper sizes, under any circumstances? You can certainly PROGRAM non-standard paper sizes through the panel, but the tray will not be able to automatically identify non-standard paper sizes. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

User authentication is not turned on in this machine. I did "clear all data" on service mode but did not solve the problemComment

Re: Konica Minolta C258 custom paper tray seting
If you activate Engine FW DipSW 19 it's possible to select custom-size paper detection of the tray 1 and tray 2.
Beware that in earlier C258's the guides in the paper trays can only be set to fixed posistions.Comment

Re: Konica Minolta C258 custom paper tray seting
Finally problem solved.
Dipsw 19 was already activated with Hex value value 80. Maybe it depends of other dipsw to allow custom paper size on trays 1 and 2.
The way it worked was by copying the dipsw settings of another machine that already had that function enabled.
I changed the folowing:
Dipsw n. previous Hex value changed to Hex value
10 02 04
25 40 B0
51 F0 00
72 04 00
125 02 00
146 00 30
157 20 00
175 00 02
226 00 90
227 80 00
230 08 40
One of them must have did the trick as now machine allow the use of custom paper size on tray 1and 2.
Unfortunally I did not had the time for change back one by one to identify the right one. Too late on the end of the day.
One of the changes must be related to the way the computer gets the machine state as now when we press get device information on the computer driver an error message pops saying "printers can not be conected. Check port definitions. The machine prints ok altough, even on custom size paper.
Thank you for all the help.Comment

Thanks for posting back, and collecting the appropriate data. We can work with that to narrow it down further. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Anyway good job but it's not recommended to change software switch values without need.A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

51 Consumable Life Warning-do not show: F0, to display all: 00
72 Import/Export Function-enabled: 04, to disabled: 00
125 AirPrint-enabled: 02, to disabled: 00
146 Switching Paper Feed Mode-disabled: 00, to enabled 30
157 Airprint-enabled: 20, to disabled: 00
175 Serverless Pull Printing-disabled: 00, to enabled: 02
226 Scan & Fax Settings: 00 90
227 Hide Consumable Status-enable: 80, to disable: 00
