    Scan to Email -SMTP Fault on KM bizhub C454e

    We are a Develop dealer and recently took on servicing a KM bizhub C454e device for a new client who owned the MFD. Its about 12 years old and they bought it from previous tenants so never serviced by us.
    The scanning worked for years but all of a sudden stopped - no obvious network changes and the same Office 365 account credentials are working for SMTP email scanning on another device which is a SAMSUNG A3 MFD. It errors with "server connection error"
    I have tried different DNS servers, created a new Digital Certificate but no joy. Should I be looking to upgrade firmware as a last resort?

    I would try firmware first but last firmware was several years ago since this model is no longer supported. I've had to upgrade most of my 4 series because of not being able to scan after a win update or other changes. Some had to change from scan to email to SMB scan to folder. There are some work arounds for scan to email that other members may suggest.

      Only one time i make it work initializing the server cache data setting in the service mode and trouble reset

      You can try rewriting the same firmware that the machine already has to overwrite whatever error if it is firmware, alco compare de security settings with the printer that can send emails

      A test you can do is make a data export to a usb, then initialize the machine, setup smtp again manually and test it, then import the usb data and test it again.

      If it works in the first test but not in the second one is a configuration problem related with configuration that was exported, if it doesnt work in neither test, it coud still be configuration that remains despite the export/import.

        if nothing else can fix it, scan to usb should still work.

          What are you using for an SMTP server? smtp.office365.com?
          Worked in IT for 12 years from Helpdesk up to System Administrator. Now working as the IT Manager at a copier company for the last 4 years.

                Try using the customer's specific SMTP server at office365. We find that they work better than the generic one.
