Printer Cartridge Lifespan

I'm just an end user and recently acquired a used good condition Konica Minolta C224e. It came with a spare set of brand-new unopened color cartridges. The machine only gets moderate use, so the spares may set around for a while, before they are needed. How long is their shelf life?

Store them in a cool and dry area. I have used toner that sat for more than 5 years with no problem. Just shake the bottles well before you use them.

Also be sure to store then horizontal, not vertically. If you store them on their ends, the toner will compact and clump after sitting for some time.
