konica minolta c300i replace toner c and y indicators on
like stated above.. the panel indicates they need toners and they just don't I am using genuine toner as well not refills or aftermarket
any thoughts? thanks so much

this machine was just fine until we moved it. lol I will check this out.. I just had to do a c364e hopper a couple weeks ago it took a llittle time for sure but it was the problem was the toner hopper as well.. this machine is new enough that I don' thave a spare hopper around like the c364 which I have lots of used parts for

There are known issues with the toner units on these models. If you have access to the KM knowledge base, look up KBA00074915 and KBA00052227. I'll copy the text below, but one of them has a PDF attachment that I'm not able to include at the moment.
Problem
Low TCR, broken toner drive, premature replace toner messages.
Solution
CAUSE: The detecting plate coming off of its hinge pin. The issue is currently being investigated by Konica Minolta Incorporated (KMI) R&D, and a permanent solution will be provided once that investigation is completed.
SOLUTION: Please refer to the attached documented procedure.

Problem
"Toner low" message will occur even if the toner bottle is new or full.
Solution
CAUSE: The two sided tape and sponge is out of position causing the inner shutter to not open properly
SOLUTION: Press the upper part of the inner shutter if the shutter does not open properly cut the sponge/ two sided tape back
Note: Open a ticket with the Contact Support Center (CSC) at 1-800-825-5664 if you have an affected toner cartridge and provide the following information.
Provide the Lot Numbers to identify toner cartridges affected:
The first four digits are the production date, the sixth digit is the color data(C/Y/M/K) Example(9403AMD9) September 4th 2003 Magenta toner

Use engine SW 31, 32, 33, 34 to reset the toner counts this will reset the 'gas gauge' to full.
Next restart & perform a colour print run. Check the TCR levels stay around 6.5%

I don't blame you much for that, The knowledge base has always been a pain to find anything. It has gotten better it seems, but it's still far more difficult than it should be to find things in it.

Lol, your knowledge base is super compared to what we have.
Especially AAS is top notch.

lol try calling in a ticket in the old days it was so painful. and somethimes they told me they never heard of the problem before lol I do believe one of the techs was malcolm years ago

femaster.. question for you are you talking about the toner bottle shutter or the shutter in the toner hopper in the copier? the 2 toners it is calling for once I cremove the bottle and in the machine I move the shutter they are both packed full with toner.. interesting just was curious thank you so much

Had only 2 Machines in 2020 with TRC low Sub Hopper Assy problems.
Since half a year I had about 6 cases on C250i-C650i where the toner bottle was not recognized as new. The toner indicator remained at 0. I think it is the Chip or contact.
The TCR value was always ok, so I did a reset and the problem was solved. Unfortunately it was not possible for me to check if the chip increased the counter in Service Mode Counter Parts Life.
If someone has such a case and it is the first toner that needs to be replaced then he should please check the counter. Then you would know the problem is the chip .
After Initial Setup the counter stays on 1! If you replace your first toner ist should stay on 2.

Sorry for the late reply, been a few days since I've been here. Unfortunately I've not had to deal with this situation as of yet, so I can only speculate on what they mean in the bulletin. After re-reading the bulletin, it really sounds like it could be either shutter, they were clear as mud in their description. My best educated guess would be the shutter on the toner bottle only because near the end they talk about having "an affected toner cartridge". Unfortunately that is only a guess on my part.
