How can I set default scan resolution and PDF format on a Bizhub C550i?

I've tried logging in and setting the scan settings the way I want, then using the Admin Utility to use current settings, but it's always back to 200x200. I would prefer to increase the resolution and use standard PDF for my user settings, but if that's not possible, can I change the default for the whole machine and all users?

The PDF format is also grayed out, how can that be changed?

Is that machine set up to use authentication or print management software?
    Whatever

Generally, you can change the default settings for copy and scan functions through user settings at the machine. First open the scan function and set everything how you would like it to be as the default (higher DPI, file format, etc). Once you have it the way you want, click the home button, then go to utilities, user settings, scan settings. There should be an option for default settings. Choose "Current settings" instead of factory default. This should then set the current scan settings as default for all users. Go back to the scan function and hit the reset key to make sure everything is set correctly.

These settings may not be available if you have third party software or user authentication enabled. Hope this helps!

You have to ask your service provider.

No, normally it's imposed by this third party software you are using so unless you have credentials to login and change it you're stuck with what you have.
