    Banding Brand New C4065

    Hi everyone!

I just bought a brand new C4065, minutes after installing the first printed images showed banding cross direction most noticeable on high coverage.

The electrical installation was checked and no problem, i have a C2060L and and old C6000L which print great with no problems at all.

My tech figure coudn't figure it out, a month later they took the machine and sent me a new one, same problem! banding on all colours. He even mentioned installing recently a new one on other location with the same issue.

So i went to a competitors and printed some tests on two c4065, and same problem! They bought the machine with the same seller.

Four months have passed and no solution from my tech, he will try with a new motor, dev unit and transfer belt, but i don't think it'll work, since all parts were new.

I can't belive the same issue on 5 different machines . Has anyone have seen this?

Thank you all in advance, any input would be appreciated.

Customer reported after 50k when the printed a job with a solid purple background.
It was present at all colours; on K the most.
Bandings were not as thick as yours.
I took a K drum from customer's 2nd machine and get similar problem but pattern was different.
I've replaced a new drum, but didn't get satisfactory result.
The problem was still visible but again with a different pattern.

If you measure bands what is approximate width?

If this is a new device you need to contact Konica Minolta to resolve it.

Hi!, its aproximately 1.5-2" inches, a little bit hard to measure with so many bands, some are lighter some darker.

Thanks, yes its under warranty, konica sent a technician along with the tech of the reseller, they have been swapping dev units, drums, with no luck, they ordered a new dev unit only for black and will check, a new transfer belt and a bar behind the same belt, if there is improvement i'll update inmediately.

What i found really odd is the same problem on 5 new machines.

yes there is a issue for banding on all the new models C4070-C4065 (same engine)
we have a C4070 with same issues.
they have just released a new transfer belt drive motor.
              A85CR70R33
we changed all drum drive motors and transfer belt drive motor with the old part numbers and didn't help.
drums, developers don't help so don't waste your money on changing these.

we have order in 2 for testing to see if they solve.

Thank you so much, please let us know your progress.

I've confirmed there are more machines near me that have the same problem, seem like a bad quality parts issue.

I can't believe Konica is selling these machines with such a major issue and playing fools like they don't know about it.

                Thanks!

                  Update so far.
The transfer belt drive motor( A85CR70R33) did not solve the issue here.
Have also changed the Drum drive motors to new Lot numbers and the Main Drum Drive Assembly itself.
                  Not much luck yet,
                  here are some images.
solids ran from test pattern 43 solid colours look good.
will keep updating as we go but is taking time to order and get parts in.

Hi!, so far no news from konica, they seem to be ignoring our problem. They even tried to sell me another machine with no promises to fix this issue.

I've ran over 400k impressions and the banding seems to be diminishing, Maybe something about the developer-toner balance?

I've been visiting another machines and they all have the same issue.
