    Bizhub C3320i crumpling printed pages

    Hi,

I have one of those unlucky models C3320i, which first had famous Magenta eating syndrome, which we resolved by updating firmware and replacing imaging unit/drum. But now, only at 10.000 counted pages, it begun crumpling printed pages, the lower third is two times folded, like two waves. Othervise, print is clear, no lagging, no overprint.

We first thought, geez, fusing must have gone bad, so we replaced it, but did not help.

Any idea what else to check?

    Here how it looks like:

    Hello,

does this happen when doing ONE-SIDED printing or only while TWO-SIDED (duplex)?

However, I would test a new dry package of paper.

    Regards,
    Ro

Watch paper exit through output tray it looks like exit rollers slow speed while fuser outputs rest of the page.

bulletin on the registration white fingers to fix tension or do what i do and loosen the spring just a little at a time until it runs smoothly. The magenta issue we are finding the best fix is to leave image stabilization to standard priority not black priority also when you first get the printer brand new to remove the all the IU shake them as if you were putting in a new one. Then run High agitation by opening the paper tray and running a stabilize/initialize then run gradation, then check TCR values if some are above 8% run full tone halftones until below 8% and on the time of deliverer we run a stabilize on all MFP's and stabilize/initialize on printers only not scanners or your set up people will have to do gradation too

Hey, thank you for tip! I watched closely and paper does NOT jerk, it comes out smooth, no change of speed or jerking. However, at the position of first bump, outgoing paper jumps upwards, because it obviously is either bent before, or it bends right there at exit rolllers.

@ronny2502: does this happen when doing ONE-SIDED printing or only while TWO-SIDED (duplex)?

Well...no, it only happens with one-side printing. Two-sided print irons it out obviously, as it spits out prefectly smooth and flat paper, no bends and crumples.

Might be a dumb question but did you try different/new paper?

Not a dumb at all! And yes, I have tried 3 different tiypes of paper. Definitelly not wet or bad, AA-laser printer rated, which we use all around with all machines.

Hi Labsy, there was some tip about lubricating exit rollers bushings or so. Never did it but I may take some time to find it for you if I'm not mistaken 😂

Thank you very much for this! Do you have a link to this bulletin maybe?
BTW...white fingers? I am greenhorn in printers, so I imagine this are those white plastic tabs, which hold spring-loaded foamy roller on side door. Lol...what a description

Just a question, is that how your Meter count list looks like normally? I know on 8.5/11 does not have as big of a white area on the bottom of the page but not sure on what size you are using. make sure the copy screen shows the correct paper size in the tray too. I know this bulletin is for jamming but I have see I do some crinkling of the paper due to it slows down the paper and not getting past the registration at normal speed. hope this helps

It crossed my mind, too, that possibly paper format is not correct, so I double-checked, paper is A4 and tray is also set to A4. But regarding white space on the bottom...well, usually meter count page indeed is one-page, in this case it spits out 2 pages. Will examine this tomorrow, maybe I overlooked some paper settings somewhere...

You may want to replace 2 tiny cushions as they get crushed and changes the timing at registration.
Location is next to registration roller, just above metal mounting plate its spring loaded next to 4 white levers remove 1 screw and plastic plate move the metal lever up down look for flat areas where they stop on two cushions mounted above. Remove feed registration unit to replace or while mounted but more difficult.

They changed plastic parts after that to wider part by 0.5mm or something of that size... what a wonderful engineering
                          Those are helluva machines really
I heard rumours KM dealers quit and switch to other brands after that A4 color i series fiasco.
