    FleetRMM Firmware

    Is anyone using FleetRMM? We've been looking at this past month and it's got potentional but for somethings there is a learning curve. My question for those that may be using it is has anyone gotten firmware to work?? We create the .tar file and attach it however the firmware upload fails every time.

    Any other tips or hints anyone has would be appreciated too

    Cheers

    Re: FleetRMM Firmware

    I took the class a while back on it and does have potential. I haven't had a real reason to utilize it for the amount of machines to make it worth it yet.

    The firmware was an issue even during class here is the fix for it

    Solution
    CAUSE: SMBAccessRetry ->TimeoutSec" requires a change in the setting.

    SOLUTION: Perform the steps below.
    1. Stop the Fleet RMM Application with Fleet RMM Management Console.
    2. Open the following configuration file.
    C:\ProgramData\KONICA MINOLTA\Fleet RMM\Config\FleetRMMServiceConfig.xml
    3. Make the following change, "ServiceSetting ->CommSetting ->SMBAccessRetry ->TimeoutSec" Change 1 to 150 in
    4. Restart the application.

    Note: Timeout period is now 30 min. Refer to image below.

      Re: FleetRMM Firmware

      Thanks for the reply and info.

      We're rolling out 60 odd A3 machines with customised displays, card readers and papercut soon. We are hoping this reduces the run up time enough to make the effort worth it. Once it's running it should make even individual runups quicker too. NTS in Australia are begining to look at it here but haven't done much work with it yet so we are working through it together. We are a dealer not KM direct.

      It look like later versions may have added a couple more entries to the file.

      <SMBAccessRetry>
      <FileUploadTimeoutSec>600</FileUploadTimeoutSec>
      <FileUploadTryCount>3</FileUploadTryCount>
      <TimeoutSec>150</TimeoutSec>
      <Count>10</Count>
      <GetLatestSetting>
      <TimeoutSec>10</TimeoutSec>
      <Count>10</Count>
      </GetLatestSetting>
      </SMBAccessRetry>

      It is still failing even with the change. I'll look at it again tomorrow as it's getting late here right now.

      Cheers

        I realize this is just about a year old but I'm currently struggling to find out how Fleet RMM can push out firmware to our devices.

        I have v1.5 setup on a server, I have tested changing settings via policies etc which works.
        But I cannot find anything regarding updating firmware in the documentation or by manually browsing in the application.
        The only mentions of firmware are in forum posts and in the xml file mentioned in this thread.

        Any pointers to how I go about pushing out firmware with Fleet RMM?

          Firmware updates should be pushed by service technicians. Are you enduser(Admin) or certified KM tech?

            Thank you for your quick reply.

            I am the IT sysadmin responsible for the support, security, configuration and installation of third party solutions for scanning and pull print on a few hundred printers.
            I also administer other brands with other device management softwares where I routinely perform audits/conformance checks, change passwords and update firmware etc on the devices.

            So no, I am not a certified KM tech.

            By ”should be pushed by service technicians” do you mean that it is not possible to push firmware with RMM or that it should not be done if you are not certified?
            I’d rather not depend on a supplier to update the devices since they don’t do it on a regular basis and scheduling techs on 100s of sites is not practical.

              Thanks for clarification.
              I think admin side of FleetRMM may be free but service side isn't you will need license and I'm not sure from where you can get it. Probably your local KM dealer will know.

                Thank you for your input.

                I have tested out all the features that I normally use and they are working in RMM, just missing the firmware installation/audit options.
                I’ll have a talk with the supplier once they are back after the holidays.

                Thank you once again.

                  I know many solutions that implement remote monitoring of devices, but their implementation is based on the installation of the DCA agent in the network infrastructure of the monitored device. Remote client panel and firmware update is possible after proper configuration of the device itself and is described in SM. The application we are currently using reads all the data and sends notifications and has no drawbacks associated with DCA.
