What does the 'e' in eseries stand for?

I was told it was meant to mean Enhanced, but I'm thinking it's more like Erratic!

    Any better suggestions?
Hah, or how about the acronym for Bizhub......tricky with the 'z' though

        extremely buggy?

It certainly was at the time of release.

neither the standard 4 series or the e series had stable enough firmware to be released when they were in my opinion, the amount of bugs was absurd, and we as technicians took the brunt of the customers frustrations as per usual.

Lock ups, from ERP settings, HDD, SSD board and SDLP settings, DF 701 problems, LCF feed, and stacking issues, OFF Hook fax problems, SMTP problems...but the good news is the CXX5e will fix all of these problems. Emujo

Only to have some bugs of their own. Displaying messages that they quit. Want better wages... things like that.

e stands for everything was wrong at time of release

like windows - after 1st run up 1 million updates before it runs smoothly
Hey what ya doing? - just screwing around.

I see the latest firmware for this "e" series is October 2013, is it best to update all my e series machines as a precaution even if they have no issues!?

                        "Experimental"? Sort of Alpha-Version.
