Kyocera TA-300ci Stuck on Welcome Screen

    Hi Folks,

    I replaced a cracked touch screen on a 300ci.
After I put the ops panel back on and fired the machine up, and the screen was black while I heard the machine warming up. The memory light blinked green for a while then stopped blinking to turn solid green.

I reopened the panel, and saw that I had accidentally switched a dip from "NORMAL" to "BOOT" and when I switched it back to NORMAL the screen is stuck on the welcome screen as the machine sounds like it is booting up normally.

Does anyone know how to get out of this mode?

    Thanks in advance!

If you have switched the switch back to normal. Load firmware onto a thumbdrive, plug the thumbdrive into the panel USB slot, turn the copier on and find something to do for at least 7 minutes. It could take longer. If this doesn't work, switch back to boot, start the machine and wait for the light to turn solid again. Then try firmware again. You won't see anything on the screen until the firmware update gets to the control panel part of the firmware load.

      Thank you.

Do you happen to have a tech pub or document on this you could share?

          Success!!

Thank you very much! Reloaded the firmware on a USB drive, FAT formatted with with less that 2gigs memory. Then rebooted to the normal screen.

          Thanks
