[Error Code] Kyocera M2035dn Code 3102 ... 2201 error Code (when scanning to email or PC)

Kyocera M2035dn Code 3102 ... 2201 error Code (when scanning to email or PC)
I am thinking that there is nothing wrong with the copier. Does this have more to do with the Network. I just handle the copier repair side
and not the IT side... Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!

Scanning from a copier over a network is the bane of my existence.

Is this a new install? There is likely nothing wrong with the machine, but you will need to double and triple check the settings saved on the copier (ie, SMTP and SMB settings).

It is a little strange that you are getting the same code for both email scanning and smb scanning, are you able to print to the machine or ping its address?

I had this error before but, only with scanning to email. It was resolved by increasing the SMTP timeout from the default 10 seconds to 180 seconds, but this was after I knew all the settings were correct and scanning was intermittent.

I'm guessing you're getting the 3102 and/or 2201 send errors when scanning to email but only the 2201 when scanning to PC.

For email, 3102 is "Error: Server Response" and 2201 is "Connection to SMTP/POP3 server has failed." They are essentially the same thing. Try IP address instead of hostname. Make sure you have the correct port. Check if SSL or STARTTLS is on if applicable. Conventional network troubleshooting should apply here.

For SMB scanning, 2201 reads as "Writing scanned data has failed" which sounds generic but probably pertains to shared folder permissions. Again, check your settings.

I wouldn't guess there is any problem with the MFP.
