I've been seeing a lot of F46F codes pop up the past few months.
I asked tech support if they've noticed it and if they have a fix for it in case it becomes more prevalent.
If you have the KX driver AND KX XPS driver installed, it can cause intermittent F46F errors. I assume almost everyone installs the KX driver. Be aware that windows will often detect the Kyocera on the network and install it's own print driver even if you've already installed it. Windows will pick the KX XPS driver to install 95% of the time.
This, among other problems, can also be caused by having more than 1 version of the KX driver installed. It's good practice when upgrading to a new Kyocera model that you (or their IT Dept) delete the old printer, then delete the old printer driver before installing the new print driver.
If you don't or can't do all of this, try switching the emulation from PCL XL to PCL 5e and checkmark the GDI Compatibility box. This worked for me at 1 customer's office who often got the F46F code.
