[Misc] Kyocera 6030mfp will not recognise new toner

Hi everyone, I am new to Copytechnet so forgive me if I get things a bit muddled and out of place. I have a Kyocera MFP6030 that will not recognise the yellow cartridge. Two new ones
have been inserted but the machine will not print in colour and the toner % bar in the status page is blank. Tried the latest firmware but no good except it got rid of "F246" error.
Not an easy machine to pull apart so any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers

Is it OEM toner or aftermarket? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Does it say "adding toner" then fail or always say "replace toner"?

Hi thanks for the reply. I just got it sorted. The customer has been using compatible toners for quite a while without a problem and they have 10 of these mfps. The 2 new cartridges I opened worked fine in two of the other machines I tested them with so I could not understand why they were rejected when used by this machine. I ordered in at great exorbitant expense an original yellow TK5140 and it worked. The % toner bar showed on the status page. I put back in the compatible toner and the machine said empty so I removed the "chip" from the cartridge and did the OK/Stop trick and the machine worked but did not show % bar as you would expect. Should have tried that in the first place !!!!!!! The customer said it was showing empty before the F246 error but I think he was telling porkies and the firmware upgrade has done something to discriminate against non oem chips as happened with the FS2100 a year or so ago. I might try downgrading the firmware to an earlier version but I will check first and see if that is possible and without consequences.
Thanks for the response and maybe this will help someone else in the future.
