The bank's IT needs to unlock the USB port for you. Gotta try fw before ordering parts.

You need to update the firmware to resolve this issue.

However if the USB ports are blocked/disabled? you can't unlock them with the machine not coming to ready.

You have to start with firmware. Also, just a suggestion, I would have the IT dept either be on site anytime when you are there to service the mfp, or give you the admin code to access the mfp because the extra trips your company needs to make are costing you money.

Also, I was thinking if you do have access to the copier, if the admin passcode was not changed you can lower the security level of the mfp or allow usb connectivity though the system settings, then when you are done just re disable/enable those options.

Laptop with crossover cable. Modern Laptops can use regular ethernet cable. Log into command center unblock usb port, upgrade F/W, re-block USB.

With the machine stuck on the welcome screen & not coming to ready his options are limited.

                      Keith,
It would appear that nobody is really looking at the problem as you described it.
So if the USB ports are blocked, you would need to unblock them to update firmware, but you CANNOT do this because the machine is stuck in "Welcome".
Others are telling you to web into the machine to unblock the USB ports, but if I am correct you stated there is no network connectivity to this machine.
At this point, you pretty much have to go with a board failure and it would almost have to be the operation panel or main control board.
Maybe you have another machine you could pull the operation panel off of to try.

And right now his options are to try to access the command center or replace boards. I always try the least expensive option first, especially the free ones. At most you lose ten minutes trying.

We ended up replacing PWB Assy. Controller board.
Seems to have solved the problem.

You're right. This went right over my head. As one who suggested it, I apologize.
