    Factory Reset 3155dn

    Hello

Can anyone provide instruction (or advise if it's even possible) on factory resetting a 3155dn without having the admin password? One of our tier I guys fat fingered the password when setting it up and now we're totally locked out of it--we had a technician come onsite and as it turns out the technician didn't know how to factory reset it either---I've tried searching every where online/reading the manual but I've found nothing. Is this a trade secret, or is it just not possible to do?

    Thanks in advance!

Is it on a network? If it is, browse out to its network interface or as Kyocera calls it, the Command Center. If not, put it on a network and try browsing. If you can get it to print a Status Page, the serial number and IP address should be there.

If you can get to the Command Center, there ought to be a place to for the Admin Login. That login is usually 'Admin' (with a capital A) for the user name and password. I have noticed on many newer models, the user name is 'Admin' but the password is the serial number with all letters in caps.

Once you're in the Commend Center there ought to be a place to reset the machine to default. I have found that's usually under Management Settings > Reset > (look for the button) Initialize.

I hope that helps and good luck.

Thanks for the reply--the issue is my tier I guy reset that admin password on the UI and now we can't log in to it to change it----I've seen a lot of people suggesting there's a code you enter on the pin pad to access "Service Mode" and from there can factory reset-- I've seen "1 0 8 7 1 0 8 7" suggested a lot but that doesn't do anything

From system menu on the control panel select user/job accounting and use 5500 5500 for administrator access then select:
        user login setting
local user list (Admin is the one you want to select)
detail (It may use a different term like "edit")

Now you should see where to change the "command center" password back to what you want

I've never done this on the printer versions because nobody ever gets into this predicament on them. It makes me wonder if you are referring to a P3155dn or an MFP. Either way this should work.
