Kyocera 6054 stuck in "adjusting scanner"

Kyocera 6054: won't scan, copy, or print. Says "adjusting scanner" at the top but won't go past that.

We're going to need some more info... Age of machine, Total Count, any troubleshooting measures, literally anything else that may be helpful to help you?

Installed just under 2 years ago. 88817 is the count. I've tried to test the scanner lights just on a hunch, the option in service mode is grayed out. It's like the scanner is not there. Last tech did a firmware update that worked for a minute. Problem is most of us are Canon/Ricoh specialists.

I'm leaning towards a bad engine pwb, but not sure... the scanner does no kind of POST that I can see, it doesn't move, light, anything.

When you say scanner, you mean the flatbed, or the document feeder? Are you able to see what the machine looks like in Copy mode with all of the correct accessories?

I would start with the simple things, firmware is supposedly already done, but just to rule it out, DO NOT do the "Turbo" firmware file, just do the regular and make it overwrite everything. Reseat connections on the corresponding PWBs. Some ADF's have a separate PWB that gets installed over top of the Engine/Main PWB.

Sounds like some sort of failure to me, but it's definitely a funky issue.

Had same. Did a 906 and semi restored some functionality. Engine board was faulty.
It seems to me this generation has more board faults than usual.

Yeah I ended up doing a 906 to get them going again. Printed an event history and was able to find a code. I went back and forth between ordering a lens assy or engine board, but the service manual recommended the lens first. If that doesn't do it definitely going to the engine board.

What was the code you were getting. We had three 54 series machines in a month that needed boards. All different issues and different boards.

have had other problem in past. C3200 error.
during investigations i removed flat cable from lamp unit and system becomes ready without error code, but adjusting scanner appeared on the screen.
After mounting from new lamp unit system works well again without any error or other problems.
                Did U411 and finished.

I replaced the ISU and so far haven't heard back from them.
