    Kyocera M5526CDW/A Toner issue

    Hi guys,

we have a Kyocera M5526CDW/A that has a constant toner error message, it says the cyan and magenta is empty. We have tried replacing the toners with Genuine cyan and magenta but once the toners are replaced it runs through its cycle and then pops up with the empty message again,

we have tried cleaning the contacts for the toners, made sure the triangle groove is placed correctly for the toners,

they only have 26000 total counter, is there a possible firmware for them or a setting to get rid of the message?

we hardly use these machines (only have 2 out in the field), if anyone has any suggestions that would be great,

i would check the part number. a couple years ago we ordered new toners. box even said it was for that model. but come to find out it was the incorrect part number. i only discovered this because right below where the toner goes in, was the correct part number.

Look at bulletin H012 to see if it applies to your serial number.
      Hope that helps !

Yep, there is a bulletin re this. I think the spring tension holding the toner addition solenoids open are too strong or the air gap between the solenoid body and the actuator plate is too large. Reduce the air gap, decrease spring tension or both. Had a few of these over the years.

Can you please share the bulletin? as i say we don't have much of those machines out there so we don't have support for these

I have been able to fix quite a few of these with just a dab of grease in the right spot. The problem is that you cannot see the spot without major disassembly. What I did was to bend a paper clip/wand, dip it in some red grease, and apply a small amount of grease to the outside of the cam as seen in the illustration. You can't see the destination, but you can get close enough with a hand bent wand. The final test is to install a new toner cartridge of the affected color, and start printing 35% fill images of that color. You'll be able to quickly drive it into a Toner Add cycle, it will replenish, then resume printing. Add Toner.pdf

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I have had bad developers if toner doesn't fix but on other models. Just thought.
