[Error Code] Kyocera FS-9530dn, 4000 and 5300 combination of error code

    Hi guys,

I have a Kyocera FS-9530dn that displays error codes 4000 or 5300 every time it starts up or restarts (e.g., Power on shows 4000, then power off and power on again shows 5300. It is in a continuous loop with these two errors). I have checked and replaced the laser unit and the LED discharge bar from the image unit. I also found a BSI that mentioned the front cover switch should be replaced. Naturally, I replaced this switch as well, but without positive results(big BS ). Any ideas? If anyone encountered and resolved this type of defect please leave a comment!
Is a very strange combination of error codes!

    Thank you in advance!

Wow. Haven’t seen one of these for twenty years. Was an amazing machine in its day. Both those errors point to engine PWB. I presume you’ve done firmware? There was a change of laser at one point which required a firmware update. Good luck

4000 - Polygon motor synchronization problem - The polygon motor does not reach the stable speed within 20 s of the START signal turning on.

5300 - Broken cleaning lamp wire - While the cleaning lamp is on, the broken cleaning lamp wire detection signal is detected for 2 s continuously.

I just looked it up and that machine was released in 2006 and not discontinued until 2020, that's probably the longest run I've seen.

Yes mate is a very old machine. This it's a tricky fault! Like i said, laser unit and cleaning lamp wire was replaced and the machiene has installed latest firmware released(17.102.0010 - FW containing OLD Engine PCB fw update). I spoke on the phone with a guy from Kyocera Support, and he told me that he had the same issue in the past. He replaced the imaging unit, the laser unit, the front switch, and the engine board, but the defect was not resolved. Indeed, I believe this model is one of the longest-lasting from Kyocera .
        Thank you!

          Hi Jim,
Already replaced this two units as indicated in the service manual but, without any positive result. Yes, this model is one of the longest-lasting from Kyocera .

          Cheers!

i am not shure, but if i remember correctly the problem is located to the security switch from the left door.
The contact inside from the switch are burned, but it`s easy to open it for checking.
            Location:
Remove the back cover and you'll see this switch in the upper right corner.
Disassemble and open it with a small flat screw driver.
In past we have always glued a plastic furniture door stop buffer to the actuator to prevent the contact from bouncing......
The contacts for power supply from the wall out are burned and if you check the wiring diagram, you'll see:
no power supply --> No 24V

              Hi Kyo_Oem,

Make sense what your saying! This kind of mixed service call point to a short circuit or poor contact fault.
Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and straight forward instructions.
I'll come back later and let you know if Is solved printer works!

              Kind regards,
              Alexandru

                  Hi guys,

Sorry for the delayed response, but I was on vacation. As per the instructions from Kyo_Oem, I replaced 2 of the 3 switches (the two smaller ones), and the equipment is now working perfectly. I didn’t attach that type of bumper to the actuator, but I did adjust the arm to ensure it correctly triggers all three switches. Further more i clean that contacts from the big switch.

In the past, when you made these corrections Kyo_Oem, did the issue eventually return?

                  Thank you very much Kyo_Oem!

                    congradulation, good job!!
Both small switches are not related to the problem, contacts from big switch are the reason.
This is the reason why the bumper is needed, with additional bumper i didn`t get any negative feedback.

This mostly happened on systems with connected finisher, less amount on systems without finisher attached.

Error Codes 4000 and 5300: Usually related to problems with sensors, switches, or control circuits involved in opening/closing the printer doors or covers.
