Kyocera M2040dn SUPER slow and scanning to usb issues

Hi guys; I thought there was a post about this already, but I couldn't find it.

Kyocera-M2040dn, super super slow prints, internal prints & copies. I'm talking it might be 8 pages per minute. I have removed the print cable and no difference.

This is what I have done..

ONLY 37K total on the meter

    New fuser- same outcome
    New drum unit- same outcome
    New Developer unit- same outcome
updated the firmware- same outcome & it did take the update completely & it changed FW

This thing is just plain lazy!! Any ideas??

ALSO, on occasion it will have issues scanning to USB thumb drive, it will say scan error, or when it does take a 5 page scan job, it takes about 10 seconds after the scan to complete the action and show on the display.

    HELP!!

Good thought, but Sim 906 does not exist on this machine model

Might be a stupid answer - but, What are the chances it is set to quiet mode? that would slow it down considerably on all print/copy settings? Those may even have a quiet mode indicator light on the panel.

But if it was in Quite mode, would it not be turned off when he replaced the fuser as he had to turn the machine off/on to do so and then revert back to normal?

            What media types are loaded?
            What media types are programmed?

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Function default may have been set for that mode.
I have customers who like quiet mode on their desk so it throws me off when it is so slow.

No quiet mode.. It is set on Normal recovery mode.. ALL paper settings are on Letter & plain for both drawer & by-pass tray. Sleep time is 15 min... Everything is as it should be. I am really baffled on this one

Is it on any type of surge protector? I know its a far shot but I've seen these things do some weird stuff to machines

I actually have the machine in the shop... I went ahead and did a factory reset & now it copies & prints at the speed it should. I have no idea what was set incorrectly, but I have toyed with it for 30 minutes since I did the factory reset & it works great.. scanning to USB is faster & completes the job quicker.. I just wish I knew what the hell it was that was causing it.

On a bright note.. It is the cleanest, newest, and nicest 37K machine I have done in a while. The customer bought it new from me in March of 2020, they don't do a bunch, but now it is back to normal.

Thanks guys for all the input.. Very much appreciated!!

Glad it is back to normal! The only way you determine what as changed by the reset is if you had printed out all the reports, Sim00 all, before the reset and after. Without that there is no way of knowing.
