    [Jamming] dp-7100 question

    Hey everyone!

After taking a two year break from the industry, I'm back in action at a Kyocera dealer.

I initially went to the machine because the lead edge of the original was catching on the exit sensor flag. it was gummed up from a failed noise dampening pad. When i put it all back together it won't feed one single page into the thing. After a lot of tests, i ran in simulation the motor for the pick-up rollers and its running in REVERSE!!!

So for someone that works on these document feeders, What can cause this motor to run in reverse? I have triple checked all my connectors on the DP board no luck.

Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas?

    Thanks Y'all!

Not on this particular doc feeder, but I've seen a one way gear (bearing) that is seized and cause the rollers to turn backwards.

BTW: The DP-7100 is a RADF and not a single pass doc feeder. That means it has a one way gear that keeps the feed rollers from spinning backwards when it reverses for the 2nd side.

Did you put the gear on backwards?
