Kyocera Scan To Email With GMail

    Good Morning

I'm trying to setup a Kyocera scan to email with GMail. I've done a bunch of these since the new security additions at the end of May. Ive tried all different port/protocol combinations, using a third-party generated app password from Google account of the email address im using. Everything that worked for me in the past but now im getting constant x1101 errors. It worked on port 587 TLS worked for about 30 seconds then went back to not working. Customer has Xfinity for wifi but port 587 or 465 isnt usually blocked by them.

Has anything changed with Google adding more security since May or has anybody had recent success. I just completed a similar setup about 2 weeks ago without a problem. Or maybe theres a copier setting that i need to tweak that im missing. Thanks.

2 factor authentication must be turned. ON in the user account and then create an apps password

1101 isn't finding the mail server. Try using 142.250.123.109 instead of the name to eliminate a DNS issue. Make sure your gateway is correctly configued on the machine and it has internet access. You can try enabling the browser to troubleshoot it.
      Hope that helps !

Maybe a duplicate IP address on the network? Are these same settings working on a different machine in the same office? Definitely confirm the DNS and gateway settings as said before. Also, if you use KFS make sure this device is showing as online. I'm not sure what machine you are working on, but you can try pinging smtp.gmail.com from the System/Network settings on the copier panel.

I did think of that and tried different ip addresses. Matter of fact i pulled in settings rebooting with DHCP server to be sure settings were correct and ip address didnt conflict. The similar setups were at different offices but same model (M8124). Didnt know you could ping GMail server from copier. Will try that. Thanks. Im beginning to think it is a copier setting.

Make sure SMTP Security is set to STARTTLS. I'd would also suggest enabling both Serversideand Clientside network security settings for SSL3.0/TLS1.0,TLS1.1, and TLS1.2. Let us know what you find.

I wanted to close this out in case anyone else experiences this. Thanks everyone for the help. tmaged hit the nail on the head. It was a weird dns issue which we resolved. Put in the gmail direct ip and it worked. So we dug deeper on the dns issue.

                  thanks again techs...
