    Taskalpha 6003i Error C-9000

Recently started getting this error code on a customer's machine that's been placed for a few months. DP communication error between the DP and Main PWB.

Ok. Why is it throwing this error code when the customer is only sending print jobs over to the copier? I could understand better if they were making copies, but it chooses to do this in the middle of printing and forcing the customer to turn off and back on again.

I don't mind chasing parts (book says firmware, reseat, then dp and main pwb) but can someone help me out with the why during printing part?

    Thanks
    Chris

It could be a loose connection and the vibration from printing causes the error. More likely would be a firmware issue, which is why the recommend you start there (that's always a good place to start anyway, bricking equipment is very rare now, and it fixes a multitude of sins), spurious data not being handled well maybe.

Did the customer tell you it was only happening on print jobs or did you test several large print jobs yourself?

Have not been in front of this when it's happened but have a good working relationship with the IT department. The machine is primarily a printer at probably a 90/10 split prints to copies. Checking the event log confirms the number of occurrences. The firmware was flashed to the latest version on the first call out (which is where it already was but never hurts to try) and made no difference to the problem.

Also reseated all connectors from the DP to the engine, including the dual side scan board. I'm leaning more towards a wiring harness issue over a board issue but do have the dual scan board on order currently.

did you compared the date and time stamp from the eventlog with the printer and/ or send log?
If it happens during printing, you must get red mark with "NG" for the print job at this time.
If not, i must happen during usage from scanner....
