    Dp7160 double sheet feeding

Has anyone been seeing double sheet feeding on these feeders
We have several in the field with the issue and its very random
Replaced the tires and TORQUE LIMITER FEED_303JX07401 many times
    Not fixing it.

    Re: Dp7160 double sheet feeding

KYO-OEM talked about the double feed problem with the DP-7160/70 due to the torque limiter but didn't say anything about a solution. Good luck.

At the moment we have a lot of problems with DP-7160/ DP-7170 because of multi paper feeding/ paper jams.
TORQUE LIMITER FEED_303JX07401 makes trouble, but no trouble with this multi feed sensor

What is the media type of the originals? Maybe NCR? Nested, twice-folded, originally stapled? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Re: Dp7160 double sheet feeding

Doing a little research, I'm wondering if the grease change to the torque limiter in 2021 is the cause of the issue. Obviously, the DP-7160/7170 is a totally different design from the DP-7110. But KYO-OEM referenced replacing the torque limiter resolved the issue, even on some brand new units.
The only other thing I could see is the lid to the DP flexes when feeding. If this is pulling away from the sep roller, the pressure change would cause double feeding issues. I hate when they change something that works perfect, just for the sake of change, and make it worse.
        Hope that helps !

we have less double feeds if we remove the parts you can see on the picture.

Not solved in total, but the amount of jams decreased...
i have heard that it`s still under investigation at KDC, hopefully we get good news in near future

                  Re: Dp7160 double sheet feeding

from my technical point of view there seems to be a problem with the pressure from the feed roller.
If we remove the part #8+13 we get less pressure and because of this less multifeeds.
KDC must change the spring#13, i think.
If you compare this spring with DP-7110, you`ll find diff. sparenumbers/303TC07220 SPRING HOLDER LF from DP-7160 against 303M407160 SPRING HOLDER LF from DP-7110.
Does the DP-7110 spring will solve the problem? I do not know yet, but i will try when we get the next case.

We are finding the old sep tire works better for this double sheet issue, But you cant get the old style tire any more

We installed the yellow separator tire from the Dp7110
This took care of our double sheet feeding issues, its a better tire than the gray one

sometimes it can be helpfull if solutions like this would forwarded to KDC

But now i am fighting against new problem on this fu.....DP.
A lot of dirty CIS AGC rollers <30k scans.
Same ordernumber as used in DP-7110, but i think the faster speed could be the reason.
Maybe temp because of high abraison will increase, today i will measure temp around it....

You are correct. We have a customer that uses it to scan at a high volume. We wore a hole in it cleaning it so much. Replaced it with a used one from a 0/1 series machine, problem disappeared.
