Hello everybody

After a thundurstorm, one of my 2554ci at a customer reboot and display a white screen... I have reboot, unplug but its same...

I will go this afternoon test an update. I dont know if the copier start normally or just display white screen (It can change the mistake). I brought a screen in case of...

Have you already have this mistake ???

Hope that it did not damage the control board. Had one that was not on a surge protector that it came in through the network cable and had to change the control board. All copiers now have a surge protecting the power and network, even if we did not sell the machine, we tell the customer what will happen if a surge comes it and it is not protected. $$$

White screen problem has been seen, but not for lightning/power surge. So perhaps you have a different problem like Op Panel Main or Main PWB...BUT

Try to remove the network cable and reboot. If it helps I'll tell you why.

I'm intrigued. How does the Network board cause a white screen?

By crashing the OS. May need experimental firmware to fix it so contact your support rep.

Black screen+Sleep light blinking->Remove network cable and white screen may appear. Also Panel lock may occur with some network operations.
Caused by failed network process (internal) under certain configurations. Check for complete network configuration.

The problem is the Main card. The Internet box caught lightning and the lightning follow the RJ45 cable... and BOOM
I see the RJ45 controller on the board is burnt, I can see the silicon chip

Be sure if you install a new board to put the copier on a surge protector with power and network protection.

Hope that is all it took out. I had one get hit through the nic and it took out my msat also. We forced the customer to make a insurance claim.

Now, for all electric card, we say to the customer to make a insurance claim. It's not in the contract.
