[Misc] Kyocera 5501 Fax in memory job list, but Tray 1 said to add paper.

So the 5501 has a fax in memory and tries to print to tray 1 (8.5x11). The paper tray is full and shows that there is paper in the tray, Yet the message displayed said "add paper to tray 1. All paper sizes grey out and inaccessible.
I checked the following.

1. changed the paper sizes from letter to legal and letter R ( just in case the incoming fax was a different size)
2. swapped drawers #1 and #2.
3. swapped feed units #1 and #2.
4. set paper mismatch to ignore.
5. power off machine and unplugged. (fax job would not clear even if I hit cancel)
6. set "resize RX fax" in web interface.

Could not get into service mode or copy mode. But there were other print jobs in the Q, and I was able to get them to print to another drawer (tray 3) if the fax job was paused.

Ended up removing fax module and rebooting.
The machine came to ready and it would copy and print from tray 1. No messages, working fine.

Still not sure if it was a faulty fax module or wrong size inbound fax.

Going to replace with new fax module tomorrow.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Tray has to be set to "auto" size detect before a fax will print.
The tray can't be set to a specific size.

When Kyocera fax gets a paper size in fax they will not print out until the correct paper is in the machine always put reduce to paper size in set-up to avoid this issue.

Inbound fax paper size of fax was the issue

There's one more part to this explanation. Yes, Faxes only print to paper sources set to Auto size detection.

But the tray may display a false size if a small plastic feature is broken on the rear guide. The feature would appear in the far left of the photo (if it wasn't broken):

There is a simple paper clip MacGuyver that will get you working until the part arrives. It will make that tray always detect Letter LEF.
