    Kyocera 6635 Toner container PCB

Question for those who have replaced the toner container PCB on the 6635. What is the difficulty level and how long does it take to do this ?
I have one to do far away from my office....Thanks

Me either. What are your symptoms? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

1st service call....Toner Empty K....Back door was not fully closed...Generic toner..
        2nd service call...2 days later....Toner Empty K....Installed OEM toner..
3rd service call.....1day later...Toner empty K.....Replaced Developer unit, transfer unit, another OEM toner
4th service call......1 day later...Toner Empty K.....Toner gauge bar on status page showed empty..Removed toner banged on desk and shook well, then reinstalled. Status page then showed 100% toner.
5th service call......1 day later...Toner empty K....Called Kyocera...Suggesting replace toner container container PCB ( with the small leaf spring contacts )
After replacing each of the parts above and toner, printer starts adding toner... but either times out (empty) or says toner low.
It will run for a day but issue returns.. Reminder, I replaced developer unit, transfer unit and 2 OEM toners
        I THINK thats all

Yep, had similar with Mebius gen machines. No answers from Kyocera either. Also had toner not installed not related to rear cover.

I'll be the first to tell you: This task isn't much fun ... but it might be your solution.

But first one question: Is it a dusty environment? If it is, you might be seeing this:

"Add Toner M." message when toner has been added. Magenta toner shutter or magenta toner motor coupler do not engage properly. Open area in the top of the motor assy allows dirt into the mechansm. Observe that the cam mechanism sticks at ~11:00 o'clock, and never shifts to the ~1:00 o'clock position. Disassemble and clean the shutter drive components. Disassemble and clean toner motor drive couplers. If any couplers still stick, apply a small amount of oil to the cam mechanism.

"Add Toner K." message when toner has been added. Black toner shutter or black toner motor coupler do not engage properly. Add Toner1.jpgAdd Toner2.jpg

If you examine the photo you'll see that the engagement cams on the left two toner cartridges (K & M) are not engaging, they stick in the 11:00 position the one to the right is properly engaged in the 1:00 position. It's just a sandy gritty environment (at a greenhouse). Y and C were unaffected, because the top of the drive pack is enclosed at that end.

There a lot of ways to screw this up. I stripped this machine down (4) times before I got it working. Do this in the shop if you can arrange it. Enjoy. =^..^=

First, your attention to detail is incredible. Second, I hope that I never have to do this.

I agree with Billy on both points there.

I have had to replace the toner detection board on a few occasions. Super easy. Just remove the left side covers and the board is right there. No screws hold it in, only plastic clips (IIRC). Oh yeah, be sure to remove the toners first.

Re: Kyocera 6635 Toner container PCB

This post is the only mention of this issue that I have seen. I had a 6635 dropping to 0% before the machine reported that it had low toner for apparently 3 months and the users just kept putting in a new toner. They finally called us when it did it again and they didnt have any new toner to put in the machine and were threatening to deduct the cost of them purchasing toner from their contract bill.
It had skipped to 0% from 22%, Then next month 38%, and then less than a month later at 48%. The next day after they called asking for us to ship a toner to them so that when it ran out they would have a backup (they were at 70% Black toner) they called back asking where their toner was because they were at 0%. There was no way they used 70% in 1 day. Not even our client that prints 600,000 in a year uses that much toner in a day. They claim that they print alot but with only 130,000 prints since april 2022 I knew something besides just usage had to be happening with the machine.

I replaced the board and am currently watching the machine to see if it will do it again.
