TASKalfa 221, fax data error or print data error.

When the machine runs out of A4 during copy she asks to load paper in the cassette. If she's printing or faxing and runs out of paper the messge is one of the above. As this model (6 of them) is on a large corporate site full of thick educated pricks I need the message to be 'simple'. Is there a way of changing this????????????????

What exactly would you like to change? We can tape up the paper empty sensor so it will never display "Load Paper" and just jams when it runs out of paper. Would you like the message to specify a specific tray? I don't think it will do that.

Are these endusers having difficulty determining which tray has no paper? It seem like a fairly simple task to me. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I thought my post was clear- sorry if it confused you. I want the message to say ' add paper cassette 1' and not display ' print data error'. If you didn't know the machine and it displayed print or fax data error, the last thing you would think of is to add paper from a customer point of view. lastly why doesn't it say add paper???

I hate those error messages. When it says "Print Mode Error," you're supposed to magically know that it really means "Press the Printer button to see the real error message." I have had many KM-2050s do this when someone prints an odd-size PDF, usually scanned from the same 2050 with Full Scan disabled (16K).

I've never found a way to change the error message to something designed for human use. If I were you, I'd train the key operator or put up a paper saying "If the copier says Print Mode Error, press the Printer button to see the real error. If it says Fax Mode Error, press the Fax button to see the real error."

Sorry aa, I've only got one CS-2050 with a print card. All the others are just plain copiers. This has never came up. Thanks for the heads up. =^..^=
