Paper Jams in KM-C range transfer belt cleaning unit area?

    Hi all,
I'm currently having problems with several KM-C machines that are jamming in the transfer belt cleaning unit section. I've tried everything I can think of, including replacing the entire transfer roller holder unit (worries over suction fans not pulling the paper back sufficiently) - no joy, new transfer belt - no joy, introducing Taskalfa t/belt modification mylars (cut to size) - no joy, increased lead edge blank - no joy.
The only common denominator seems to be recycled paper "EVOLVE", Ricoh machines aren't coping too well with this brand either, but clients don't want to hear this.....(sigh) any ideas?

Do you have a specific model in mind, or just all Kyocera Mita color MFP's in general? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

If it's the 500ci series then there is a problem with the original transfer belts shredding and causing something similar to what your describing.

Otherwise we're probably going to need more info as far as models and jam codes.

Mostly they're KM-C2525E, KM-C3232E, KM-C4035E models. Strangely, all at the same client.... (all using the same brand of recycled paper - the only common denominator)

Have you tried to run plain paper through the machine?

I would, but these jams only occur every 3-4 weeks, (not that often I know, but in a multi-user environment 20 + people per machine, when these jams occur the cleaning unit gets jammed up with paper, causing the cleaning drive to make one hell of a racket) the client's unwilling to switch to plain paper (environmentally friendly being the only option), and I seriously doubt the office will fund a month's worth of paper for 20+ users. Seems to be a no-win situation...
            C'mon, guys! SOLUTIONS?

So they're VoyagerE's. Are you getting paper in the primary transfer cleaning unit? Is it generic toner?

I've got 50+ Voyager E's, and I've seen plenty of belts damaged by the rubber strip peeling off the inside, then getting entangled in the rollers, stalling the transfer drive. But I've never seen an intact Kyocera primary transfer belt that didn't clean.

IMHO it's either generic toner or your recycled paper. Do something or do nothing. It's up to you. =^..^=

They could use recycle paper, use nothing less than 24lb. The heavier the more rigid ze bettah!. They wont change? Their problem.

Is it the brush area you're refering to?

Any ultra light weight paper can actually get pulled in there by the natural curl (since recycled stock has no grain direction)AND if you dont have those spur looking thing.

k, need jam code, and what does the paper in jam location look like (deformed, skewed, compressed, expanded, ninja?) Have you seen it in person?
Idling colour developers are not healthy developers.

I would try a different brand of recycled paper or a heavier type like Jmaister mentioned.

Otherwise the customer will have to live with it or switch to normal paper.
