Newbie: Where is Scanner File Utility

Our office got an old KM-5035 and I am tasked to get it connected to our network which has about 10 Windows systems (XP, Vista, 7). I was given a couple of CDs with documentation and drivers, but they seem old (only thru XP).

I downloaded all the documents from Kyocera's download center and am trying to understand it all. I don't have ethernet cabling yet so I'm trying to get up to speed just with the documentation.

I want to configure the KM-5035 to scan to a computer (not sure if 32-bit XP or 64-bit Win7). However I can't seem to find the Scanner File Utility on the Download Center site. Is it part of another package?

    TIA

The only CD I have is circa 2007 with a Scanner File Utility version 3.16.9.

Will this work for either 32-bit or 64-bit systems?

As I recall, it worked fine on 64 bit versions. I have been out of the Kyocera Mita game for awhile but I remember it working ok, good luck.

3.17.11 is the version currently recommended for XP 64 and 32 bit and 4.11.02 is the version for windows vista and 7 64 and 32 bit. The 3.16.9 might work on the XP.

I found it at KYOCERA Document Solutions few weeks ago...had to dig and search for it but I did find it somewhere in there

I am "assuming" that this KM/CS 5035 has a print System and a scanner NIC as well. You will need two connections to the network. One connection for the print system and one for the Scanner NIC.

Do you know how I can get the latest versions of 4.11.02 and 3.17.11? It's not listed on the Scanner list for the KM-5035 nor the other download sub-categories.

Re: Newbie: Where is Scanner File Utility

I believe Kyocera have dropped their support for Scan File Utility,

however it is still available on Utax Site:
                      UTAX UK - Utilities

Km5035 = Utax cd1050 just browse for correct model.Software is the same.

                      Hope this helps.

Just cause it's not listed in the right place doesn't mean it doesn't work. I don't think they are that bothered with keeping it up to date.

I'd try it anyway, I've used this on 64bit win7 from the Utax site and had no issues. It may have been under Vista 64 but if it works it works.
