    [Dead] Task Alfa 3550Ci F000

    Hey all,

I have a task alfa 3550 ci which has a F000 fault at boot up. The manual states Main PWB board and Operation Panel PWB board.

Should I replace both or just the Main PWB. Cannot get any further into the machine without it booting up.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks Larhal

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

Before getting all wrapped up in replacing boards there are some things that you can try, reseating memory sticks, Code dimm etc. You also might clean up the connectors on these devices. The F000 error is telling you that the main PWB and the Operation Panel PWB are not talking to each other. Either one could be bad.

Maybe you can ask for assist from the Kyocera guys, before ordering expensive parts. This is a difficult one to troubleshoot.

I had a similar model 2 weeks ago same code, unplug the HDD and see if the m/c boots up and gets a C640 error.

Clue for me was HDD clicking noise. Also I could not load F/W until HDD was unplugged.

redo F/W after replacing any parts eg HDD or PWB.

        replaced HDD and all working.

          Re: Task Alfa 3550Ci F000

          I'm with madas:

          1) firmware
          2) reformat HDD, then firmware.
          3) replace HDD, then firmware.
          4) OP panel, then firmware.
          5) main PWB, then firmware.

Do not replace multiple boards simultaneously or you will run into serial number conflict errors. Only one PWB, then firmware. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I haven't had this problem on that model yet, but any TaskAlfa that I've gotten an F000 on has always been a bad HDD.

Check simulation 031 to see if any sensors are actuated, also make sure all doors/covers are closed completely. Have had issues with right side door connector, bridge unit sensor and DU2 sensor causing this problem.

                Dear All,

I would check simulation 031 but cannot even get into maint mode. Locked up at welcome screen and then at fault F000.

Have already cleaned and re seated all components, connectors.

I have tried firmware but no luck.
Next step unplug hard drive and boot up, or try firmware loads.
Will do the hard drive then firmware next.

Then the boards, one at a time.

Thanks for the advice, and I will keep you informed.

                    Re: Task Alfa 3550Ci F000

I have a problem. We are not Kyocera Mita authorized so I cannot download the lates frimware. We are a service group handeling mainly Ricoh which we have access to.
The firmware I have is version 3.01 and it seems to be lacking in getting this unit running correctly.

Could someone help me with the latest firmware for the Task Alfa 3550CI please.

                    Best Regards,

                      Well all,

the main and operations boards were shot. I replace the main first and tried to do a firmware update and nothing.
Then replaced ops board , did firmware update and low and behold it came alive. Put back the old main board, reloaded firmware, thinking it was only the ops board and no go. Put the new main board back and reloaded firmware and good to go.

Both boards went. well learning curve. customer has a whooping bill but that's life.
