This same lift motor is used on the FalconIII, Voyager, VoyagerE, and Saturn. The diagnosis is the same, only the connector configuration is different. I was in front of a Saturn today, so the pinouts are for a Saturn.
These lift motors (302GR44112) have (5) connections. Three of the pins are contacts for monitoring the rotation of the lift motor assy. The two remaining pins go to the DC motor. On the Saturn models, on the vertical path drive PWB unplug the connector and check YC3-4 to YC3-5 for the upper lift motor, and YC3-9 to YC3-10 for the lower lift motor. Preferably you'll find 0.129 ohms across each motor. If you find 0.003 ohms your motor is a dead short, and may have taken out the driver circuitry on the engine PWB.

To confirm whether you'll need the engine board, remove the bad lift motor, and mark it so you don't accidentally reinstall it elsewhere. Move the good motor to the other position and connect. Power up. Reset the error in U906. Power up. With the trays removed, use the push switch on the inner rear frame to energize the lift motor. Does it run? Yes? Great, you won't need the engine PWB. No? Sorry, you're going to need the engine PWB along with your lift motor.
Unfortunately it's very common for techs to move the shorted motor to the other tray position, consequently taking out the only functional lift motor drive circuit. =^..^=
